2-Day Trip to Prague: Exploring Timeless Charm
Our hotel, the Prague City Courtyard, proved to be an excellent choice. Located conveniently near a mall, we had easy access to any essentials we needed and even enjoyed some shopping. What made it even better was that both tram and bus stations were just a short 4-minute walk away, making it incredibly convenient to travel around the city hassle-free
Day 1: Exploring Prague and Travel Tips
Upon arrival, we discovered that Prague has an excellent and efficient public transport system. To make the most of our stay, we purchased a 48-hour public transport ticket from the yellow-colored kiosk located at the airport. This convenient ticket allows unlimited travel on trams, buses, and the metro. It’s worth noting that the kiosk accepts both cash and card payments, making it convenient for all travelers. By utilizing the public transport system, I was able to navigate the city effortlessly while enjoying its clean and reliable services.
We started our day by visiting Coffee Room Prague, a renowned café known for its exceptional offerings. While there, we indulged in their delectable specials, including their mouthwatering croissant filled with gooey chocolate. The combination of the delightful pastries and aromatic coffee provided the perfect start to our day

Leaving the café behind, we made our way towards the old city. As we traveled via public transport, we stumbled upon a beautiful garden along the way. Prague is known for its picturesque gardens. Some notable options to explore include the Royal Garden, Vojanovy Sady, or Letná Park. These gardens offer serene settings and lush greenery, providing a tranquil escape within the city.
Continuing our adventure, we crossed the picturesque Charles Bridge, a true symbol of Prague’s charm and history. The bridge, adorned with an array of statues, offered breathtaking panoramic views of the Vltava River and Prague Castle. The ethereal atmosphere felt like a journey into a fairy tale.
Immersing ourselves in Prague’s vibrant ambiance, we made our way to the bustling Old Town Square. The square’s architectural marvels spanning various styles, including Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque, added an enchanting touch to the lively atmosphere. We marveled at the famous Astronomical Clock and immersed ourselves in the vibrant street performances and bustling market stalls
Amidst the captivating sights of Prague, we couldn’t miss mentioning two unique and intriguing attractions. One of them is the Lennon Wall, a colorful mural dedicated to John Lennon and the ideals of peace and love. This ever-changing wall is adorned with graffiti, lyrics, and artwork, symbolizing freedom of expression and serving as a vibrant tribute to the famous musician
Another noteworthy attraction is the Piss (Černý), an outdoor sculpture and fountain created by Czech artist David Černý. Installed outside the Franz Kafka Museum in Malá Strana, the sculpture depicts three bronze figures urinating onto a shape resembling the map of Czech. This thought-provoking artwork challenges traditional norms and offers a playful and unconventional take on public art
Additionally, we had the pleasure of discovering the Garden of the Wallenstein Palace, a hidden gem nearby. This picturesque garden, located within the premises of the Wallenstein Palace, offers a tranquil escape from the bustling city. As we strolled through its manicured pathways, we were greeted by the graceful presence of peacocks, adding an enchanting touch to the natural beauty and serenity of the surroundings
Day 2: Heading to the Outskirts
On the second day of our journey, we made our way to Pytloun Chateau Hotel Ctenice, located in the border area between Prague and Central Bohemia. This charming hotel, situated right next to Ctenice Chateau, offered a unique blend of history and modern comfort.
Ctěnice Chateau , is a fascinating compound with origins dating back to the Middle Ages. Throughout history, it underwent significant renovations during the Renaissance and Baroque periods, resulting in its distinctive architectural style. As we concluded our visit to the museum, we were left with a profound appreciation.
